About gypsyjazzguitars.com:
Exciting music, exciting instruments, great people
We thought players needed a one-stop location for both
getting information about gypsy jazz music and buying
instruments to play that music. We’ve forged strong
relationships with Draleon Custom Instruments, Eastman
Guitars, Saga Music, GAS LLC, and The Music Link to bring
great products to us at excellent prices. We set up all these
instruments properly here in our Friendsville shop. We’re not
trying to source the ultimate vintage instruments. Instead, we
want ordinary players to have modestly priced tools to explore
gypsy jazz music, both traditional in the Django Reinhardt,
Stephane Grappelli, Hot Club style and modern, in the style of
such fine players as Angelo Debarre, Romane, Bireli Lagrene,
Fapy Lafertin, Dorado Schmitt, Jimmy Rosenberg, Joscho
Stefan, Yorgui Loeffler and the like. Not to mention the
interesting paths taken by players like John Jorgenson and
Robin Nolan.
Gypsyjazzguitars.com is a division of Gianna Violins, owned by
violinmaker Stephen Perry. The physical shop lies in the
shadows of the Great Smoky Mountains just outside the quaint
Quaker village of Friendsville, Tennessee. The shop was built
in 1935 and is quite rustic. You’re very welcome to visit, but
do call ahead and make sure we’ll be in! We attend many
festivals and are regularly out of town. If you'd like us to
attend a festival, please get in touch!
Since 2002, we’ve been supplying bluegrass and folk
instruments, archtop guitars, violins and fiddles, and a wide
range of related products to players world wide.
Our staff consists of Stephen Perry (principal), Gianna Perry
(shipping, infrastructure), and Stephen Murphy (technician).

We’re located just off highway 321 between Lenoir City and
Maryville, TN, right here.
From Maryville, follow US 321 towards Lenoir City. At the
flashing yellow light, turn right on 333. Right at the stop sign
on Farnum. Immediate left on Hill Ave. 2.5 miles on the right.
From I75, take exit 81 to Lenoir City. Turn towards the Smoky
Mountains and Maryville. About 6 miles past the Dairy Queen,
you’ll pass Country Gardens on the right. About ½ mile past
County Gardens, pass the Unitia Road sign on the right and
take the next left onto unlabeled Unitia Road; there’s a
separate turn lane and you’ll be headed down hill. 1.5 miles
on the left.
