Stanford Guitars - Vintage styled powerhouses
PAGES FOR REFERENCE - WE ARE NO LONGER STOCKING THESE GUITARS. No more remain in stock. Please check on the aftermarket. These pages are not maintained
The Stanford line includes fine European guitars by Furch and the small-shop Chinese "Performer" series aimed at the "Blueridge" market. Email for a .pdf of our current stock & prices, or call and chat. Furch built RD5Vin illustrated.
The lower priced excellent imported Stanford Performer series guitars are very well made and offer:
- Available in Dreadnaught, round shoulder & OM
- Traditional looks
- Fine solid woods
- Nicely done scalloped bracing (except OM)
- Relatively deep neck
- 1 3/4" nut
- 25.5" scale
- Bone nut & saddle
- Beautiful workmanship
- Modest prices
These aren't really jazz instruments, but I like them. Very nice standard copies of the classic designs, with much better bracing and tone than the typical imports. Much better! Nice trade guitars of good wood, like the fine American trade guitars that were built during the early part of the 20th Century. A performance bargain. Remember when a scalloped brace guitar with good craftsmanship actually cost a good deal of money? See a harmony central review here.
Traditional craftsmanship is demonstrated in the accurate and careful hand-carved interior bracing - nicely following pre-war Martin specs, careful detailing, 1 3/4" nuts and secure necks make for real playability, adjustable truss rods, and thin finishes. Really lively wood used is simply wonderful. Openback Waverly style tuners. Nice nice feel to them. $35 shipping, return if you don't like.
